NSRV WOMEN CATHOLIC DEVOTIONAL BIBLE - 9780310900610

The Catholic Women's Devotional Bible (NRSV) is a complete Catholic Bible in the New Revised Standard Version, Catholic Edition, including the deuterocanonical books, paired with a year of daily devotional readings written by women. It includes 260 daily meditations, 52 weekend devotions on women of the Bible, and 50 articles linking Scripture with Catholic tradition, plus a reading guide keyed to the Catholic Lectionary. It is designed for Catholic women who want to build a habit of daily prayer and Scripture reading, and it carries the official imprimatur of the Catholic Church.

The daily meditations are drawn from classic and contemporary women writers. Among them are Catherine of Siena, Julian of Norwich, Dorothy Day, Mother Teresa, Sister Wendy Beckett, and Esther de Waal, writing on everyday concerns such as relationships, marriage, raising children, simplicity, and prayer. Each weekend devotion centers on a particular woman of the Bible and her story's relevance today. The 50 tradition articles cover topics such as the sacraments, holy days, the liturgy, and spiritual direction. A six-year reading guide keyed to the Lectionary helps you find the Scripture readings for daily and Sunday Masses. Each book of the Bible opens with a brief introduction to its historical context and main themes. Indexes, a presentation page, and a dust cover are included, and the words of Christ are printed in black.

Use & care: Made for a daily routine of prayer and Scripture, and for following the Mass readings through the liturgical year with the Lectionary guide. Keep the dust cover on to protect the cloth binding, and store the Bible away from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight.
