Our Story: Generations of Service to Faith Communities
Rooted in Faith and Family
In September 1967, our family opened a modest 1,200-square-foot shop on Front Street in downtown Wheaton, Illinois, named Wheaton Card & Gift. While initially focused on greeting cards and traditional gifts, we quickly noticed a strong demand for religious icons, inspirational plaques, and high-quality spiritual items. Recognizing a unique calling, we introduced the world-renowned Fernand Py line of religious jewelry and expanded into spiritual books, officially changing our name to Wheaton Religious Gift.
Growth Through the Decades
To reach churches outside our local community, we launched our first printed catalog designed specifically for regional parishes and clergy. As demand grew, so did our footprint:
1982: We relocated to a 5,000-square-foot location down the street, expanding our offerings to include essential church supplies, altar goods, and vestments under the name Wheaton Religious Gift & Church Supply.
1990: We expanded into a landmark 17,000-square-foot facility in downtown Wheaton, establishing one of the Midwest's largest physical selections of sacred vessels, clergy apparel, metalware, and sanctuary supplies.
2003: We launched www.ChurchSupplyWarehouse.com, bringing decades of expertise, catalog offerings, and personalized customer care to churches, schools, and individuals nationwide and globally.
Continuing the Legacy: 3rd Generation & A New Chapter
Today, Church Supply Warehouse continues as a proud family-owned enterprise. Owned and operated by 2nd-generation leader Phil Jr., our family commitment grew even stronger in 2021 when Philip's nephew, Jake, joined the business as the 3rd generation. Jake brings fresh energy, modern technological innovation, and a shared dedication to honoring the foundation built by his family over the past five decades.
Fall 2026: Moving to West Chicago
In the fall of 2026, after 59 years in downtown Wheaton, we turned the page to our next major chapter by relocating our operations to a modern showroom and distribution center in West Chicago, Illinois. Under our refreshed identity, Church Supply Warehouse, this facility allows us to streamline order fulfillment, expand our online catalog inventory, and welcome customers into an updated showroom environment.
While our address has changed, our core commitment remains as firm as it was in 1967: providing relationship-driven customer service, deep product expertise, and reliable worship supplies to faith communities near and far.
Church Supply Warehouse is owned and operated by WRG Inc., an Illinois Corporation.
