      Overlay Stole

• Worn by: Priests and bishops.

• Position: Draped evenly around the neck, hanging straight down in front on both sides.

• Design: Often wider and more ornate; sometimes decorated with crosses or embroidery at the ends.

• Attachment: Usually not crossed; sometimes secured under the chasuble.

      Deacon Stole

• Worn by: Deacons.

• Position: Worn diagonally — over the left shoulder, crossing the chest, and fastened at the right side of the waist.

• Design: Narrower than an overlay stole; may coordinate with the chasuble and dalmatic of the set.

• Attachment: Secured at the hip or side, often under the dalmatic.
