A Tradition that comes to this country from Europe
is the custom of burying a statue of St. Joseph and praying to him to intercede with Jesus to help in selling a home.

As tradition goes, the statue is to be buried facedown (prostrate) facing the house, condo, etc., to be sold or rented. After the prayer has been answered, the St. Joseph statue is then dug up and put in a very prominent place in the new home. This is done to further devotion to Jesus through the intercession of St. Joseph.

Ever blessed and glorious Joseph, kind and loving

father, and helpful friend of all in need! You are the

good father and protector of orphans, defender of the

defenseless, patron of parents and heads of households.

Look kindly on my request. To you, guardian of the

family of Nazareth, do I go for help and protection.

Pray for me to your stepson Jesus for the favor I now
