Inspired by Genesis 1:20 "And God said, 'Let the heavens be filled with birds of every kind.' " According to the book of Genesis, God created the world in six days. The results of His labors on days five and six are illustrated in Sir William Richmond's mosaics which span the quire loft of St Paul's Cathedral. One of these Byzantine-style mosaics, The Creation of the Birds, is reproduced in stunning detail on this sacred and inspiring silk square.
