Textured Fortrel plain color Burse and Chalice Veil (sold separately) with polyester linen weave. Lightweight and available in all liturgical colors. Beautiful multicolor Swiss Schiffli Embroidery.

        Burse

• Purpose: A square, flat case designed to hold the corporal (the linen cloth placed on the altar).

• Symbolism: Reflects order and reverence in handling sacred linens used for the Eucharist.

• Placement: Laid on top of the chalice veil when carrying the vessels to the altar; removed before the Liturgy of the Eucharist begins.

• Design: Made of two stiffened squares of fabric sewn on three sides, matching the liturgical color and material of the veil and vestments.

• Use: Keeps the corporal clean and protected when not in use; sometimes also holds small linens like the purificator or pall.

        Chalice Veil

• Purpose: Used to cover the chalice and paten when they are not in use during Mass.

• Symbolism: Represents the reverence and mystery of the Eucharist; conceals the sacred vessels until they are prepared for consecration.

• Placement: Draped over the chalice and paten, often with the corporal and purificator placed beneath it.

• Design: Usually made from the same fabric and liturgical color as the priest’s vestments (chasuble, stole, etc.); may feature a cross or embroidery in the center.

• Use: Removed during the preparation of the gifts; folded neatly beside the altar afterward.
